The family run business had been based in premises in The Loan, Loanhead until March 2008 but it has now moved to a larger unit at 17 Dryden Road, Bilston Glen Industrial Estate.
The business is run by proprietor and chief mechanic Allan Paterson, who has 20 years experience in the motor trade, having worked with a number of dealerships including Ford, Audi, Volkswagen and Nissan.
He is joined in the garage by his brother Bruce, a mechanic and MOT tester, who also has around 20 years experience in the trade. Both Allan and Bruce hold their City and Guilds qualifications. Working in the office/reception is Allan's wife Angela and her sister Lynn.
Speaking in the press at the time of the move to the Dryden Road unit, Allan said "It is an exciting time and a big opportunity. We feel there is no other real mechanical garage in the area"
AP Autocentre's fully fitted garage features an MOT testing station with a state-of-the-art automated test lane. There is a four post lift, brake tester, headlamp tester and emissions package. In addition, the garage has four lifts for vehicle service, repairs and maintenance. Vans up to five tonnes can be accomodated at AP Autocentre.
AP Autocentre offers competitive prices for servicing, the company provides MOTs for class 4 (cars) and class 7 (vans) vehicles.
The premises has a secure yard and the building is alarmed and fitted with CCTV. Customers' vehicles are stored indoors overnight.
